At Hippocampus, the emphasis is on fine dining, although staying the night is equally pleasant. The stately, white villa was build around 1900 and was for several decades inhabited by the managers of the local "Vieille Montagne" factory. The fire in the fire place is a pleasant welcoming touch on cold days. In summer, guests usually go straight through to the terrace which really is a delightful place to have dinner, overlooking the pond with its water lilies.
